Living the Best Life-Spiritually and Physically

“I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 2

Living our healthy “best life” encompasses both our spiritual and physical well-being.  In 1 Timothy 4:7-9, Paul says to Timothy, “You, as a Christian, must exercise your soul as carefully, regularly and rigorously as the worldly Greeks exercise their bodies.  The Greeks were fixated on their bodies.  Theirs is solely a physical exercise.  Yours is a physical and spiritual exercise.  You must take care of your body, but also be able to keep your soul fit so you may become a godly person, growing in spiritual maturity and Christ-likeness.

There are four key principles to living the “Best Life”.

BE REAL

We become what we believe.  What is on the inside is how we live on the outside.  “For we are God’s masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus; so, we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10.

We are created for a purpose-to have a relationship with others and God.  We are responsible and accountable to our Creator. In order to have a relationship with others we must first love ourselves before we can love others.

We need a revelation of God’s love for us to have a healthy self-image.  You are a MASTERPIECE!  Live like it!

BE LOUD

“Words can bring death or life!  Talk too much, and you will eat everything you say.” Proverbs 18:21. Our words show what is in our hearts.  Words spoken are triggered by thoughts; which create the world we live in.

To change what we reap, we must change what we sow!

It’s not easy to change our heart.  It takes patience, hard work and diligence meditating on the word.  Cry out to God daily for a change of beliefs.   God renews our heart, mind and body.  With a renewed heart BE LOUD and PROUD as we live out a life for Christ.

Vision + Spoken Words = Creative Power for Miracles

WORK IT OUT

“So, faith by itself isn’t enough.  Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” James 2:17

God has a purpose and plan for each and everyone of us. Be courageous and walk boldly empowered by His spirit; full of confidence and assurance.   The only way we can live the life we dream about is if we take action.  God’s dream for our life is greater than anything we can dream for ourselves.  So instead of looking at our surroundings, we need to look inside our renewed heart, visualize the dream and plan every detail.

LIVE IT OUT

“Make your life shine, so others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

We are beloved children of God.  There is favor all over us.  We are a beacon of light to those around us.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” Corinthians 6:19-20

Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.  If our bodies are a temple, we should take care of it both physically and spiritually.  We should live wisely, eat sensibly, get adequate rest, fresh air and exercise to maintain a body that is fit and well.  Most importantly we need to keep sin from polluting our temple.

Let’s live the “Best Life” for Christ; excelling in all we do.  We will look radically different than that of culture!

What is your status? Are you living the life God intended for you?
